Please join us on Sunday, October 13th, 2024, from 12 noon to 3 pm at The Birchmere and indulge in an afternoon of food and fun while supporting Carpenter’s Shelter! At the 20th Anniversary of the Carpenter’s Cook-Off 2024, attendees will enjoy tastings from 20 area restaurants, bid on hot ticket items during the live and silent auctions, and listen to live music.

Meet our 2024 Celebrity Judges!
Sarah Stusek is an internet sensation known for her candid, down-to-earth food reviews and engaging storytelling skills on social media. She has been writing, producing and editing food videos online, earning over 300K followers between TikTok, Instagram and YouTube. Sarah has released two novels in the past year, Three Rivers based on her time at a wilderness therapy program as a teenager and Fake It Till You Make It, based on her time living in Hollywood. She also started her own nonprofit at the beginning of this year, Proper Help, which provides lunch to children in need.
Debby Critchley has lived in Alexandria since 1987. As the Food Editor for The Zebra Press for over 12 years, she has tasted her way through much of Alexandria and nearby restaurants. Raised in the Chicago area, her parents cultivated her palate with visits to restaurants specializing in the foods of France, Italy, China, Spain, and more. Her mother claimed her first word was ‘escargot.’ Ms. Critchley holds an M.A. and has recently retired from providing technical writing and document management. An avid dog lover, she has fostered more than 30 dogs in her home and is a dog mom to Beo.
Samantha McCrimmon began her tenure at The Carlyle Hotel in New York City. She later attended Kevin Zraly’s Windows on the World Wine School at the iconic One World Trade Center, cementing her passion for wine, cuisine and culture. Samantha has developed numerous wine programs, wine classes and sales training classes in New York City. She currently designs and spearheads the wine program at L’Avant-Garde, in Georgetown.
