Carpenter’s Shelter volunteers are dedicated individuals from all backgrounds who are passionate about serving and donating their time and talents to support families and individuals, providing a sense of safety through our programs and resources.
There are many ways to get involved as an individual or a group, on a short-term or long-term basis at both locations, The Hoffman Center or Alexandria Community Shelter (ACS). Join our team of more than 1,200 volunteers and help make a world of difference by volunteering today.
After you submit your volunteer application, you will be contacted with available orientation dates within five business days. While you are waiting to attend orientation, please complete your background check by visiting www.mybackgroundcheck.com. Please note that background checks cost $8. Additional charges may occur if criminal charges are present.
