Winter Shelter Monitor

This is a part-time, seasonal, hourly position ($14.13 per hour) requiring the ability to work effectively with chronically homeless clients, volunteers and staff members. Shifts are either 6:30pm to midnight or midnight to 7am from November – April.  Must be available to work weekdays, weekends and holidays and possess a valid driver’s license.  High School diploma or equivalency required and all hires are subject to satisfactory background checks being completed.

Specific Duties:

– Coordinate the nightly operation of the Winter Shelter unit

– Complete intakes on new clients

– Work in collaboration with appropriate agencies and personnel in order to deliver necessary services

– Assist and support volunteer staff

– Provide non-violent crisis intervention

– Maintain client confidentiality

– Enforce rules and regulations

-Transport clients to offsite locations

– Attend meetings scheduled by Program Coordinator

– Adhere to Carpenter Shelter’s Code of Ethics
